 MissionQuality AssuranceDESMI INC is a division of DESMI A/S, headquartered in Denmark. DESMI was founded in 1834, and has become a leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, primarily for the marine industry. ROTAN became part of DESMI in 1994, thereby complementing the product range with a range of superior positive displacement pumps for both marine and industrial applications. The internal gear pumping principle was developed in 1911 by Jens Nielsen, who had immigrated to the USA from Denmark a few years earlier. In 1921, an agreement to manufacture and market the pump was established with a Danish company, and this agreement was the origin of the ROTAN product range. ROTAN pumps have been continuously manufactured and marketed throughout the world for more than 75 years. Although the operating principle is mature, new developments in materials and manufacturing technology continue to expand the range of applications. ROTAN'S unique, modular concept is widely recognized as the most advanced internal gear pump design available. DESMI A/S was founded in 1834 and established as a limited company in 1875 and is one of the oldest companies in Denmark. DESMI is working on an international level with about 50 per cent of its sale exported to more than 60 countries.
